Bratwurst and beer are a classic flavor combination; I’ve turned this popular dish into an easy snack that’s great for parties, football games, or as a hearty snack.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 package Bratwurst (get them from your local butcher)
  • 1 12 ounce bottle beer
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Cook the bratwurst on the grill until it reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit, ensuring it’s fully cooked..

  • While the brats are grilling, prepare the sauce. Combine the beer and brown sugar in a pot over medium-high heat, bringing it to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the mixture reduces and thickens. Then, whisk in the mustard until it becomes smooth.

  • Combine the cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of cold water, whisking it together, then pour this mixture into the beer blend. Bring the beer to a boil and continue cooking for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.

  • Cut the sausages into 1-inch pieces and place them into the pot with the sauce, ensuring they are coated well. Sprinkle some parsley over the top and serve.
